Bollywood is nothing but the popular term used to describe Indian Hindi Cinemas Film Industry based in Mumbai formerly Bombay, Maharashtra. It is more formally referred to as Hindi cinema. The term Bollywood is often used by non-Indians as a synecdoche to refer to the entire film industry. However, in proper terms Bollywood is a part of larger Indian film industry which involves other production centers producing films in many other Indian languages such as Tollywood that refers to Bengali film industry and on the other hand we have South Indian cinemas.
In terms of revenue, Bollywood is the largest film producer in India, representing 43% of the net box office, while South Indian movies account for 36% and rest of the regional cinemas constitutes 21%. This data is based till the year 2014. Bollywood is also one of the largest centers of film production in the world. It is one of the biggest film industry that can be asserted by the number of people employed and a number of films produced. According to two researchers J Matusitz and P Payano, in 2011, over 3.5 billion were sold globally and it is even more than Hollywood figures of 900,000. Bollywood successfully produced 252 films in 2014 out of 1969 produced films so far in Indian cinema.

Konkona Sen Sharma: Actress, Director, And Writer
Konkona Sen Sharma is the daughter of veteran filmmaker-actress Aparna Sen. She played her part as a director and writer of a short film ‘Naamkoron’ that was released in the year 2006. Most recently in 2016, she directed and was an author of the script ‘A Death in the Gunj’. Madhuri Dixit, also known as Madhuri Dixit Nene(her married name), is an Indian actress who is known for her work in Hindi cinema. She’s extremely talented and even she receives appreciations from her critics for acting and dancing skills. Her extreme talent fetched her six Filmfare awards, four for Best Actress, one for Best Supporting Actress and one special award. She made a record as she was nominee for the Filmfare award for best actress fourteen times. She was honored with Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India. In addition to acting in films, Dixit has been featured as a talent judge for four seasons of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and is also known for her dancing skills. Often referred to as the “Dhak Dhak Girl”, she is famous for her dance in the song “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” in the film ‘Beta’. She participated in several stage shows and concerts worldwide and has engaged in philanthropic activities. Way back in 2001 Dixit won 50 lakh rupees on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a game show and announced that her winnings be donated for the welfare of victims of an earthquake in Gujarat and to an orphanage in Pune.
