The capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is a stunning city. Full of vibrant colors it is a treat to the eyes. More than a million tourists visit Rajasthan every year. And there has been an uptick in the number of tourists aged between 25 and 40. As a result, nightlife in Jaipur has improved by many notches. There are many interesting places to visit in Jaipur after the sun sets. Along with conventional nightlife attractions like pubs and discotheques, Jaipur offers some unconventional options. 

 

Culturally rich and lively, night life in Jaipur is idiosyncratic to the place. Some of these places are historic, some modern. But all of them are a treat to your senses.

 

Lets look at some of the unconventional nightlife options in Jaipur.

 

Nahargarh Fort

 

The Nahargarh fort, sitting on the top of Aravalli Hills, gives a spectacular view of the city. The view is even more breathtaking during the night.  Sawai Madho Singh built the fort in 1734. The fort was originally named Sudarshangarh. But it is believed that the spirit of Nahar Singh Bhomia haunted this place and obstructed its construction. The fort was named Nahargarh to appease this spirit. 

 

The fort is located on Amer Road and you can go there by bus or private taxi.

 

Choki Dhani

 

The place has bought to life the heritage of Rajasthan. The villages of Rajasthan have been recreated at Choki Dhani. You can catch a glimpse of Rajasthani culture with the traditional folk dances and Bani Thani art. You can taste authentic Rajasthani cusine with ‘manuhar’. ‘Manuhar’ is serving food with love and urging one to eat to their heart’s desire.

 

Choki Dhani is open from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm and is located in Tonk Road.

 

Amar Jyoti Jawan

 

This monument pays homage to the soldiers of the Indian Army who sacrifice their lives for the sake of the country. There is a light show in the evenings. The show tells us about the lives of the martyred soldiers and sacrifices made by them. The show also pays homage to the state of Rajasthan.

 

Located at Janpath, this show is free of cost. You can also enjoy it from the road.

 

Jal Mahal

 

This palace is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The palace was built in 1956 to solve the problem of severe famine. The dame was built by the rule of Ajmer. The place looks aesthetic and serene sitting in the middle of the lake and surrounded by the rustic Amer hills. The beauty goes up a few notches in the night. The divinely lighted palace throws a reflection in the lake and the sight takes your breath away. You can also enjoy local street food and go local shopping nearby.  

 

This palace is located at Amer Road.

 

Long Drives

 

If long drives are your thing especially on cold windy nights, you can try the Jaipur Ajmer Highway. It is a scenic and relaxing drive.

 

Lets come to the conventional options now. For people who enjoy looking for a good dance and drinks to enjoy the night, there are a few good pubs and discotheques.  

 

Henry’s Pub

 

This a pub located in the posh area C-scheme. It has wooden interiors and the decor reminds one of an English Pub. Henry’s Pub serves multi cuisine food and a wide range of liquor brands. It is a light-hearted place where you can enjoy good food and drinks.

 

The place is open till 11:30 pm

 

100% Rock

 

This is one pub and discotheque for Rock Lovers. The place is dedicated to the shining 70’s era. You can spot posters of Beatles, Rolling Stones and Jim Morrison everywhere. It also has a dance floor if you want to let your hair loose. 

 

The place is open till 12:30 am and even has happy hours till 10:00 pm.

The place is known for its ambience and good crowd. Moreover the place is pocket friendly.

 

You can also try other pubs and discotheques like 60 ML, Grunge, Amigos, etc.

 

While enjoying the rocking nightlife in Jaipur, please do not forget about your safety. As there are lonesome places and dark alleys.
